Oval mirrors like any others were especially popular in time of reign of such magnificent and refined architectural styles, like baroque, modernism and modern neobaroque. Special love and preference were given to oval bath mirrors framed with a baguette and the most refined frames.
And it is not usual, after all, an oval is an absolutely unique form. It combines a harmony and softness of a circle, but also gives sense of volume and severity of a rectangle. So, probably, an oval mirror has a special aura of light romanticism combined with a strict grace. Besides, it is much more convenient to use an oval bath mirror, than a round or rectangular one. After all, as it is known, proportions of a human body are not identical vertically and a horizontally that means that the subject reflecting them, should be extended. It’s also interesting that oval bath mirrors have always been preferred by women. So it can be easily called a female mirror. Unfortunately, this trend didn’t last for a long time, and oval mirrors have practically lost the popularity. More laconic and strict squared shapes replaced them. And here, the life wheel has made its next turn, and we are again opening these charming and such attractive oval bath mirrors.
